Google's new Wi-Fi router

The FCC(The Federal Communications Commission ) regulates interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories. This committee is the federal agency responsible for implementing and enforcing America’s communications law and regulations. Therefore any products before sold to their customers, that product has to go through FCC. On 20 Feb's evening, a product passed under Fcc id A4R-1701AA1, which will be Google's new wi-fi router. The “Single board computer” could be in reference to the ARM chip that powers the current Wifi.

According to 9to5 Google, This device was originally created by Japan-based Murata Manufacturing Co. with FCC ID VPYLB1CQ. Although this device is manufactured by another company and already granted certification, Google filled "Change of identification request" to establish new FCC id "A4R-1701AA1" for purpose of marketing. By doing this Google can use its own id and model no on the product. According to the Japan-based listing, this model is a type of communication model but according to google its is kind of single board computer.

The device was first released on 5 December 2016. It is because for an update as the mesh networking space gets increasingly competitive, though Google has added numerous software features.

The device is a Wi-Fi router with wi-fi standard 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and with Bluetooth low energy. It comes with two antenna which sounds exactly like a dual-band router. The “Single board computer” could be in reference to the ARM chip that powers the current Wifi.
